Happy Birthday Stephanie

1st Grade - Feb. 1975
Stephanie is my oldest grand-child. I wanted to wish her a Happy Birthday, tomorrow the 4th. Cheryl, her mother and my oldest daughter made me a grandma for the first time when I was a young thirty-seven years old. It was one of the most exciting moments of mine and Cyde's life! Especially when I found out she was a girl. Back in 1968, they didn't do the ultra sounds they do now days to let you know if you were having a girl or a boy. So she was a definate "She" surprise! I have loved you for 41 years and I'll keep loving you forever. You are probably celebrating your birthday right now over there in China. I hope you get spoiled by all your new friends and all the students that you teach. Happy Birthday Stephanie! I Love You! Grandma Spencer

Dancing With The Stars

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO MY MOMMA
HOW ABOUT GOING TO SEE A SOMBA.
THERE WILL PROBABLY BE A LATIN LOVER
DANCING AND TWIRLING HIS BEAUTIFUL PARTNER.
NO DOUBT THERE WILL BE SOME BALL ROOM DANCING
THEY’RE SURE TO DO SOME STYLISH PRANCING.
WE ‘RE GOING TO SEE “DANCING WITH THE STARS”
YOU’LL SEE THE BEST DANCER’S BETWEEN HERE AND MARS!

Wow! What can I say! I told Janette as we were leaving the show that it was my last BIG hoorah for 2008! And was it ever! We got down to the 'E' Center and made our way to the seats. We were in the upper of the lower bowl. Once Janette got settled after going and getting a really nice program that highlighted all the dancer's in it, along with a Dancing With The Stars t-shirt for me, the pre-show started which involved 10 local dancing couples that competed for the new 'Eternity' touch phone by AT&T. They danced once and 5 couples were eliminated, then did another dance and 3 other couples were eliminated. They were down to 2 couples dancing. The winner was announced later in the show. Enough of that, ON WITH THE SHOW ! While we were sitting there enjoying the music and dancing, a young lady that worked there came up to Janette and I and asked if we would like to go down to the 'floor' and sit at one of the tables. Of course we said "SURE". While Janette was checking on the price of the tickets before getting the ones we had, she said the floor/table tickets were $198 each ! ! ! We were so close to the dancer's that like KC said in her comment to the last post that we could smell their sweat ! In fact, our table was at the left corner of the dance floor where the dancers would come up right next to us and wait til' it was time to go out on the floor. We couldn't believe how quickly the dancers would change costumes and be ready for their next dance. They had an information video where it told how many songs and dances there were in the show and how only two weeks before the tour began, the company's own seamstresses were just starting to make the costumes. The costumes were all so lavish! We were so close to Derrick Hough that we could see every strand of his blonde hair as it fell in his face! He is so darn cute! Toni Braxton sang two songs, one was "Unbreak My Heart". Can't remember the other title of the song she sang, but it was beautiful. They had a live band and singers and part of that group were members from the group "Santana". I could go on and on about DWTS's, but it would take forever! It was that good!. Janette said we may start making this an annual event Who knows. maybe after hearing how much we enjoyed this show, some of the other girl's in the family will want to go with Janette and I. Their last dance was "Dancing Queen" from the movie, "Momma Mia". Janette said if Whitey had come, she (Janette) would have got out on the dance floor and danced right along with the dancers. Her and some of the other ladies that went to the movie to see "Momma Mia" got up and danced to that same song at the end of it . You would have to of been there to have appreciated it and be totally embarassed to boot! Going to DWTS's was a very enjoyable evening and we both are so glad we went.

I want to say "Happy New Year" to Stephanie in China and to all my other grand children and great-grand-children in Montana, Wisconsin and Utah and to my great-great-grand daughter in Montana.
